Chuck Gatchell is a former Ernst & Young accountant who's worked in several roles at Nike during his 10 years at the sportswear company. So Gatchell, a running footwear category manager, leaped at the chance to take a course in classic footwear design offered recently at University of Oregon's Portland campus.
