(Telecompaper) Switzerland's Federal Competition Competition (Weko) has opened an investigation into whether Swisscom has abused its market position in the market for business broadband. Weko is concerned that Swisscom is using its dominant position to hinder rivals bidding for business broadband contracts. It decided to open the investigation after Swisscom rivals were unable to offer competitive bids for a contract to connect various Post Office locations with broadband internet service because they were relying on Swisscom's wholesale products. Weko said there were suggestions that Swisscom had priced these wholesale products too high to enable rivals to offer competitive services. As a result, Swisscom won the Post Office contacts.
