We are currently looking for an XMMNewton Pipeline and Software Engineer to support our customer in Spain. XMMNewton Pipeline and Software Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the XMMNewton project team at ESAESAC, you will have the following responsibilities Software maintenance of the whole PPS XMMNewton Pipeline Processing System including PPS modules Pipeline Control Management System PCMS PCMS DB Postgres Database and RUNDAT DB Postgres metadata Pipeline Operations Engine POE Data Processed Screening System DPSS Data Transfer System Processing of the XMMNewton Data including Running PCMS from raw Observation Data Files and raw Slew Data Files Generation of serendipitous source catalogues from source lists Support and coordination of Science Products Generation Delivery of the processed, screened Science Products to the XMMNewton archive Completeness checks of the Science Products Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in computer science or a related field coupled with a background in a scientific discipline Several years experience in the development andor maintenance of space observatory science analysis systems is an advantage Proven experience with data processing systems for space astronomy missions Experience with database management tools mostly POSTGRES and protocols for information access from SOC systems Good command of modern programming languages CC, F9095, Perl, TclTk and knowledge of UNIX operating system Good interpersonal and communication skills would be an advantage Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
