Although no one reading this article would disagree with the premise that employers cannot and should not tolerate bigotry from anyone in their workforce, the NLRB apparently thinks otherwise. In a troubling decision handed down earlier this month, National Labor Relations Board Administrative Law Judge Thomas M. Randazzo ruled that Cooper Tire & Rubber Company violated the National Labor Relations Act when it terminated an employee who hurled racist epithets at African-American replacement workers while the employee was on a picket line.

An anonymous Abercrombie and Fitch employee working at one of the brand's flagship stores has revealed shocking details about the racial discrimination she has witnessed and the sexual harassment she has faced as a part-time sales person or 'model' for the controversial retailer. The unidentified female staffer, who still works a few shifts a month at the store, explained in an essay for xoJane that she was recruited for her position by two male models who told her she had a 'great look' for Abercrombie and Fitch.

More than a dozen people came forward Thursday alleging they saw a pattern of racism at local car dealerships -- an allegation the company said it would respond to only in court. The group includes former employees and customers of the O'Brien Auto Group, one of the largest car dealers in the state.
