Apps included are: ChatON, Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Facetime, Google+, GoogleTalk, Hangouts, iMessage, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Skype, Twitter, Viber and WhatsApp. It provides insight on download behaviour during last three months, which kind of Apps are downloaded and which of the mentioned Apps are installed on smartphones. It also gives insight in actual use of mentioned apps and appreciation from the users. Split is given for market, provider (Hi, KPN, T-Mobile, and Vodafone), age, gender, pre/postpaid, type of OS (iOS, Android and other) and for Android also a split on handset brand (HTC or Samsung). This report is based on the continuous online survey conducted by the Telecompaper Consumer Panel over the past twelve months. Every quarter at least 7,500 consumers are asked about their use of mobile telephony, broadband connections, fixed telephony and TV, including details on their current situation, purchasing habits, usage and churn. Virtru launches business email encryption service for Google Apps

Email encryption startup Virtru has launched a version of its service for businesses using Google Apps, a market segment that the company thinks is showing increased interest in secure communications. Google Apps has some 30 million users, which is growing as companies become more comfortable with software-as-a-service, said Virtru co-founder John Ackerly.

Yahoo buys Flurry to make more money from mobile apps

Yahoo has reached an agreement to acquire Flurry, a mobile analytics company, as part of a push to grow its advertising revenue within its mobile products. Flurry provides tools that help developers and publishers learn more about who's using their apps in order to better target them with ads. The information, including gender, age and location, helps Flurry play digital matchmaker between publishers and advertisers. The technology can be used to place banner, full-screen and video ads.
