Apple, IBM partner on enterprise mobility apps

(Telecompaper) Apple and IBM have announced an exclusive partnership that combines the strengths of each company to enhance enterprise mobility through a new suite of business apps, extending IBM's big data and analytics capabilities to the iPhone and iPad. The partnership includes a new class of more than 100 industry-specific enterprise services including native apps, developed exclusively for iPhone and iPad; IBM cloud services optimised for iOS, including device management, security, analytics and mobile integration; new AppleCare service and support; and new packaged offerings from IBM for device activation, supply and management. As part of the IBM MobileFirst for iOS agreement, IBM will also sell iPhones and iPads with the industry-specific services to business clients worldwide.

Leaked build of Windows 9 shows reborn Start menu, Metro apps running on the Desktop

Over the last couple of days, screenshots that purport to be from an early build of Windows 9 (Threshold) have leaked online. Most notably, one of these screenshots includes the new, resurrected Start menu that Microsoft first showed off at its Build conference in April. Another screenshot shows Metro apps running in a window on the Desktop.
