Dutch Apps Market is a quartely report that looks at mobile apps development in the Dutch market. The report focuses on apps for communication, instant messaging and social networking. Apps included are: ChatON, Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Facetime, Google+, GoogleTalk, Hangouts, iMessage, Snapchat, Skype, Twitter, Viber, WhatsApp. It provides insight on download behaviour during last three months, which kind of Apps are downloaded and which of the mentioned Apps are installed on smartphone. It also gives insight in actual use of mentioned Apps and appreciation from the users. Split is given for market, provider (Hi, KPN, T-Mobile, and Vodafone), age, gender, pre/postpaid, type of OS (Apple, Blackberry, Windows Phones, Andriod) and for Android also a split on handset brand (HTC or Samsung). This report is based on the continuous online survey conducted by the Telecompaper Consumer Panel over the past twelve months. Every quarter at least 7,500 consumers are asked about their use of mobile telephony, broadband connections, fixed telephony and TV, including details on their current situation, purchasing habits, usage and churn. Microsoft is expected to deliver an update to Windows 8.1 later this year dubbed Update 1, and newly leaked screenshots suggest U1 will include a stepping stone on the road to the widely rumored Windows 9, a.k.a. Maryland opts for gradual Google Apps rollout

Adhering to the saying "be quick but don't hurry," the state of Maryland is in the midst of a three-and-a-half-year migration to Google Apps, saying the measured, deliberate rollout is a better approach than a big-bang implementation. The state chose Google Apps in 2011, after deciding it wanted a cloud email and collaboration suite to replace a variety of on-premises and heterogenous email systems across more than 50 agencies.

New API will simplify Google Drive integration with Android apps, says Google

Google wants more developers to integrate their Android apps with its storage service Drive, and has released a new API that aims to make it easier. While Drive integration on Android was possible in the past, the new API offers developers better performance and more features, Google developer advocate Magnus Hyttsten said in a blog post on Thursday.
