Tasks and Responsibilities Collaboration in the system integration of satellites, satellite subsystems and Satellite components in the working area Mechanical Integration Assembly of mechanical components and component groups too Antenna Modules Focus Project NGSAR Antenna Production Series Integration of components and component groups on space structures for Satellite antennas serial production Assistance in preparation of integration and testing procedures as well as provisioning the required drawing documents Creation of integration and test protocols Preparation and execution of qualification and acceptance tests in the field of mechanical and thermal verification of satellites, satellite components and satellite structures Implementation of applicable labor standards and CV guidance as well as participation on test campaigns. We are currently looking for a Payload Integration Engineer to support our customer in the Netherlands. This is a 1year assignment to cover maternity leave. Key Tasks and Responsibilities The Payload Integration Manager is responsible for managing the integration of the assigned payload activities during the International Space Station ISS exploitation phase by performing the following tasks within the Directorate of Human Spaceflight and Operations Support the generation and negotiation of International Partner agreements e.g. ESA PIA, ESANASA PIA, JIP, JUP, etc if these agreements are required Review and analyse the Experiment Science Requirements ESR suggest changes if needed and present results to the board Support the preparation of the Research Directive RD Responsible for CEF preparation and submittal and Manifest Request MR preparation and submittal Responsible for the generation of ESA and NASA PIAs Support the relevant payload development reviews e.g. Critical Design Review CDR, Final Acceptance Review FAR Support the analytical integration activities of payloads into Columbus Support the integration activities of payloads into IP elements Support the Flight Safety and Integrated Safety process of payloads Support the resolution of SPRs Support the Logistics service for cargo transportation and integration Support the hardware operations nomenclature OpNom request process Support the development of label plans and label requests Support the User Support and Operations Centres USOCs Responsible for generating a monthly PIM report and PIM schedule for each allocated payload Responsible for generating and submitting an integrated CoFR data package for each allocated payload, as per schedule provided in the increment CoFR letter and plan Responsible for creating and eventually closing any OW identified in the integrated CoFR data package. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree Msc or equivalent qualification in engineering or science biology, medicine, physics, chemistry discipline Demonstrated experience in aerospace or human spaceflight activities management, including development, integration and onorbit operations activities of complex payloads Results oriented, good communicator with strong stakeholder management skills A strong aptitude for relationship management as well as good communication skills Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. Job Description Astroscale is seeking to employ an experienced and motivated Spacecraft Assembly, Integration, and Verification AIV Lead, for a senior position at our facility based in Harwell, UK. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and rapidly growing company seeking to make a positive contribution to the growing problem of orbital debris that endangers mankinds continued use of space as an asset. This senior role will allow the right candidate to shape solutions for our missions and to develop the team capable of delivering them. Whilst the candidate will primarily work in the UK, they will interact extensively with a larger team in Astroscales Japan office and may expect to be required to travel to Tokyo as needed in support of Astroscale projects and operations. Responsibilities Lead delivery of SpacecraftMission level Assembly, Integration, and Verification AIV activities, including ownership of all related technical and managerial aspects. Work within matrixed project teams, contributing to parallel missions of UK and international nature. Perform AIV related knowledge transfer activities between Astroscales geographical locations. Create and maintain satellite AIV procedures, plans, workflows, and schedules in accordance with technical and programmatic requirements. Contribute to bid related activities, including generation of and subsequent delivery against AIV related cost and schedule budgets. Provide experienced AIV related guidance and mentoring to junior team members. Essential Skills Bachelor or masters degree in relevant engineering or science discipline. 5 years of commercial experience delivering spacecraft or mission level AIV activities across a range of mission types. Thorough knowledge and experience of spacecraftmission AIV process, ideally with an established delivery record across several manufacturers. Deep technical knowledgeunderstanding of AIV planning, processes, GSE mechanical electrical setup and operation, and verification activities including subsystem, system, and environmental level testing. Proactive and selfmanaging, able to plan and effectively lead areas of responsibility whilst contributing collaboratively within a closeknit team. Desired Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ideally, experience interacting with international teams. Well organized, flexible working approach, ability to adapt to change. Knowledge of, and interest in, active space debris removal and space debris removal missions. Understanding of both traditional and new space mission approaches. Awareness of ECSS standards in system engineering, testing and verification. Experience with scripting languages and automated testing tools. Whilst the working language across all Astroscale divisions is English, proficiency in spoken andor written Japanese would be considered an asset.
