For our activities in ESTEC, we are currently looking for a Radio Navigation Engineer. Tasks and Responsibilities The work concerning laboratory activities will be performed based on the existing Radio Navigation facilities available at ESTEC and it includes the following typical duties Validation of designs by means of analyses, simulations, laboratory testing and field trials possibly in cooperation with third parties Execution of internal RD activities through design, prototyping, analysis and simulations Design, simulation and testing in laboratory of Navigation systems and equipment Support to related demonstrations inside and outside ESTEC Support to Navigation Projects e.g. EGNOS and GALILEO for signal design for current and future evolution of the systems Participation in studies supporting current and future radio navigation system definition andor analysis EGNOSGALILEO evolutions and GPS modernisation regarding system, signalsinspace design and ground processing Design, definition and follow up of industrial contract related to the procurement of GNSS receiver for infrastructure or user applications Design, definition and follow up of RD contract related to the procurement of GNSS future groundspace infrastructure receiver and user technology Support End to End GALILEOEGNOS System Integration Validation and Qualification activities in particular in the area of receiver and user equipment testing. Requirements The Key Person shall have a University degree MSc from a recognised Institution of secondary studies in communication or Electrical Engineering together with good background knowledge in radio navigation and a minimum of 4 years of postgraduation professional experience Specific knowledge in the design and testing of Radio Navigation systems and equipment The specialist shall in particular have experience related with the EGNOS andor Galileo systems and equipment and have some knowledge of Radio Navigation simulation and testing systems Specialist in the implementation, maintenance and operation of complex Radio Navigation simulation and test facilities for spacecraft, aircraft, maritime and land mobile applications Some experience of commercial simulation software is desirable This specialist shall have a minimum of 12 years of practical experience in the EGNOS and Galileo areas.
