The successful applicant will join Galileo Operations Bid. Please note that the work location will be Oberpfaffenhofen. The Galileo Global Satellite Navigation System GNSS provides global positioning capability by means of civil unclassified signals for mass market and professional applications as well as classified signals for governmental applications. The Galileo System Infrastructure consists of a globally distributed ground infrastructure connected by a global data dissemination network and a constellation of MEO satellites. The European Commission EC is the owner of Galileo and the infrastructure. The European GNSS Agency GSA on behalf of the EC subcontracts the Galileo Service Operation. The Galileo Service Operator GSOp has the responsibility to operate the Galileo infrastructure, to maintain the Galileo infrastructure, to monitor and manage system security, and to accommodate system upgrades and evolutions. Airbus Defence and Space has identified the GSOp tender as a key opportunity and is producing the Best and Final Offer by mid of August. We are intending to win it and preparing a very strong team across all our entities and sites combining leadership, service driven business and technical expertise. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Planning the Centralised Tools activities and ensuring they are completed on time and to the required standard Performing Centralised Tool related activities as directed by the Lead Centralised Tools Engineer in the required timescales and to the required standard Assessing and identifying the tools required to support GSOp activities Producing and maintaining a Tools Utilisation Plan Defining and documenting a centralised GSOp tool implementation solution Procuring all HW SW required in order to implement the required toolscentralised tools solution Installing, integrating and testing of the tools related HW SW Populating the tools with the requiredexisting data Developing tool operations and maintenance procedures Ensuring that GSOp personnel are trained in the use of the centralised tools Maintaining and administering the centralised tool Performing tool set upgrades in accordance with the evolutiondevelopment roadmap This role will involve frequent travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
