Lancaster Colony says frozen-food business challenged by changing consumer tastes

The Columbus company behind popular food brands Marzetti, Simply Dressed and others is dealing with a shift in consumer preferences away from frozen foods. Lancaster Colony Corp. recorded $303.4 million in revenue for its fiscal second quarter ended Dec. 31, a 3.8 percent increase over the same quarter the previous year, but its profit fell 16 percent to $33 million .

Who wants a milk that fizzes and tastes like soda pop? Probably nobody so that is why Coca-Cola milk is pure milk, just an up-scale designer version of what you purchase from Hood and other big dairy product manufacturers, according to USA Today on Nov. 26. The milk won't have anything at all to do with soda or fizz, it is milk that has gone through a special filtering process getting rid of up to 50% of the sugar found in regular milk.
