Halguard® 58610 and 58615 are 53 Shore D compounds that have UL-94 vertical burn ratings of V-0 for 1/16 in. thick specimens and respective oxygen indices of 52% and 45%. Both enable passing of UL-1685 FT-4 and UL-1666 riser flame tests. Also available, Halguard 58620 provides low level of post-extrusion shrinkage suited for fiber optic cable applications. This 54 Shore D compound enables passing UL-1685 flame test. All of these HFFR compounds suit general-purpose jacketing applications.

A potentially dangerous guardrail cleared a crucial hurdle Friday when federal officials released their analysis of four crash tests and gave the product passing grades, even for the final test, in which the driver's door was severely damaged. But the findings by the Federal Highway Administration seemed only to intensify the debate over the guardrail, which is called the ET-Plus and made by Dallas-based Trinity Industries, as critics on Capitol Hill denounced the conclusion as the result of a flawed process.
