EPA is launching its Energy Star Home Advisor, an online tool designed to help Americans save money and energy by improving energy efficiency of their homes. Updated tool guides homeowner through do-it-yourself energy assessment to create an Energy Star home profile. Based on created profile, Home Advisor provides customized, prioritized recommendations for improvements from which users can create their own to-do lists of projects, such as adding insulation to attic.

EPA Committee issues report on ecological restoration.

Good Neighbor Environmental Board issued 16th annual report to the president, which examines environmental degradation in US–Mexico border region and recommends actions to protect and restore border environment. Some recommendations include: incorporating low-impact infrastructure design and supporting conservation efforts to avoid resource damage; actively engaging local, state, Tribal, and Mexican government partners; and addressing irrigation, wastewater, and other flow management issues.
