CRTC: Rogers within its right to offer GamePlus exclusively to its subscribers

The CRTC has dismissed a complaint about exclusive sports content offered exclusively to Rogers subscribers through the GamePlus online service. The complaint against Rogers Communications was filed last fall by rival Bell TV, which said GamePlus should be available for free to all subscribers of NHL GameCentre Live.

(Telecompaper) Pakistan topped 10.3 million 3G mobile subscribers at 28 February, which represents an increase of 14 percent from the previous month, according to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). Pakistan operators added a total 1.2 million new 3G subscribers in February.

Dutch TV market grows to 7.76 million subscribers in 2014

(Telecompaper) The Dutch TV market grew by 20,000 subscribers during the fourth quarter of 2014, to end the year with 7.76 million subscribers, according to Telecompaper's quarterly report on the Dutch TV market. During the quarter, digital TV subscribers grew by 0.6 percent which was enough to off-set the continued decrease of analogue-only subscribers. The main reason for the digital TV subscriber's growth was consumers choosing IPTV via DSL or fibre with the traditional TV technology cable only growing a little. The consumer TV services generated almost EUR 410 million in revenues in the fourth quarter of 2014, slightly higher than in the previous quarter.
