Sentinel 3 Mission Management Technical Support

You will have the opportunity to provide technical support to the Sentinel3 Mission Manager and the Data Quality Manager for various activities in the optical domain at our clients premises in Frascati, Italy. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include You will be supporting the Sentinel3 Data Quality Manager in the interaction with the Sentinel3 Mission Performance Center MPC, Quality working Groups SLSTROLCI and S3 External Validation Team S3VT Specifically support the Data Quality Manager in the daytoday tasks relevant the Sentinel3 Mission Performance Center MPC, including the review of deliverablesdocumentation Attend the S3 MPC and SLSTR OLCI QWG meetings and assist the Sentinel 3 Data Manager in tasks related to the meetings Prepare and attend the S3VT meeting. Maintain the S3VT implementation plan. Support the preparation of validation activities related to Sentinel3 optical domain. You will be in charge of data analysis for sample products of Sentinel 3, in order to cross verify outputs from the S3 MPC note, this is not expected as a routine activity, but for example after processor upgrades You will be followingup the relevant web portals Sentinel Online in particular for what concerns Sentinel3 mission information and news, including technical information. Support outreach activities related to the Sentinel3 mission, liaising with EO Communication officers. You will be supporting the preparation of relevant reports, including collection of performance indicators and statistics. You will be reviewing and updating Product Format Specifications for OLCI and SLSTR and other relevant user documentation as necessary. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have a Masters Degree in the relevant discipline and have at least 4 years of working experience in the domain You have a good knowledge of Sentinel3 OLCI and SLSTR instruments You have experience in other Sentinel missions You have experience in remote sensing application domains, in particular related to medium resolution optical missions, CalVal and algorithm definition, You have experience in generating MoM, You have a good technical and analytical skills You have good time management skills You are able to work under pressure and without continuous supervision You have a good knowledge of MS office tools and especially advanced skills in presentation tools e.g. PowerPoint, Keynote. We are currently looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer Sentinel Start date September 15th, 2016 Location ESOC, Darmstadt Key tasks and responsibilities The primary area of responsibility for this service is Spacecraft Operations engineer, in the areas of System Engineering including Platform and FDIR and Instruments altimetry, optical in support to the Earth Observation missions, as a member of the Flight Control Teams FCT, to participate in the preoperational phases, including special operations i.e. LEOP, Commissioning, deorbiting.. and in testing campaigns Simulations, SVT, inflight tests. The SOE position includes the following responsibilities Support the SOM in the definition of requirements and in the validation, test and operation of the MCS, including the Mission Planning System Support the SOM in the definition of requirements and in the validation, test and operation of the Simulator Support the SOM in the definition of requirements FOP in the volumes indicated by the SOM Support the SOM in FOS procurement, integration and tests Review of satellite documents LEOP and Commissioning operations support as required The Service Provider is required to familiarise himherself with the missions heshe is supporting and in particular with the procedures and tools that are needed to perform the Sentinel operations. The tasks to be performed require considerable initiative, flexibility and independence in executing the assigned tasks. Required skills Spacecraft Flight Operations knowledge, including FDIR, in particular for the Instruments Altimetry, Optical and overall view of the Spacecraft systems engineering Experience with Packet Utilisation Standard Experience in working in an operational environment Experience with flight procedures life cycle, including validation Experience with anomaly investigations Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems Experience with low Earth orbit satellites operations, including experience in preparatory phase OPSPREP, special operations LEOP, Deorbiting campaign and preoperational phase Commissioning specially within the Sentinels missions Ability to work independently and with little supervision Wellorganised, able to prioritise and manage several activities in parallel Capable of coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields Fluency in English, both in speech and writing Familiarity with operational simulators, ideally SimSat Familiarity with satellite control systems, ideally SCOS2000 Familiarity with Earth Observations missions, in particular with Copernicus Sentinels Familiarity with TMTC databases, preferably SCOS2000 compatible Familiarity with multisatellite missions Experience in ground tests preparation and execution, e.g. SVTs Familiarity with spacecraft On Board Software design Desired Skills Familiarity with Network Distribution and Interface Units or similar EGSE equipment Familiarity with MUST Familiarity with ESOC working environment and Quality Management System QMS Please send your application, your up to date CV and your salary requirements to hrinsyen.com before August 15st 2016.
