A vacancy for a Radio Frequency and Microwave Design Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Portsmouth. As successful applicant, you join an established RF equipment design group to develop SSPAs, LNAs, Frequency Converters, Receivers and beacon equipment for satellite communication payloads from UHF through to Ka band. Working as part of a multidisciplined team, you will be involved at every phase of the product lifecycle. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Responsibility for part of Design phase under supervision. Requirements capture and their derivation relating to RF equipments. Taking responsibility for significant RF subsystem analysis tasks and handson design of RF and control circuits. Managing changes to the solutiondesign while continuing to communicate the changes to the team. Delivering to agreed performance targets. Using technical expertise to solve problems, generate ideas and be proactive within the team. Supporting bid preparation and working closely with other key members of the team. Production support including results reviews and problem solving from hybrid through to equipment level. Liaising with Customer and Partner companies. This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Educated to bachelor or ideally master level in electronics and physics or a related discipline. An experience in RF and Microwave design and layout is mandatory. A proven knowledge of 1020 GHZ frequency range. An experience in satellite communication or in a similar environment would be ideal.
