Personal Data Protection Analyst

Position Reference 060 Your role as Personal Data Protection Analyst is to contribute to support the Data Protection Officer by analysis of data processing operations, data flow, services, applications, etc. and to contribute to the identification of risk, risk mitigation and to provide recommendations towards the required changes in order to comply with regulatory requirements and ESA policies. The duration of this assignment is 1 year. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Support on the inventory of all business processes that involve personally identifiable data Identify what personal data is processed in which business process Define the legitimate purpose, for each business process Identify any personal data not meeting the processing purpose criteria incl. backups Determine and document legal grounds for processing Identify data processors involved in business processes Identify by what means data is processed for each process Identify any subprocessing where applicable Propose amendments to existing business processes to ensure data minimization Identify risk assessment and mitigation Perform Data Protection Impact Assessment where relevant to identify gaps Update templates to reflect changes Support Gap Analysis and recommendations Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have a Masters Degree in Law, with a specialization in personal data protection You have an in depth knowledge and experience in EU personal data protection law. You have experience in drafting guidance and outsourcing agreements. You have strong legal analytical skills. You have experience in analysis of personal data in data flows, IT operations, IT security issues and provision of recommendations towards compliance. Certifications in information security. You have experience in information systems auditing, risk and mitigation of risk. Practice in Data Protection Impact Assessments. You are able to analyze and provide recommendations on compliance. You have good drafting skills and are detailoriented. You are capable of managing confidential information. You are capable of managing a large amount of analysis workload in multiple topics. French data protection agency fines Google EUR 50 million for GDPR breach

(Telecompaper) France's data protection watchdog Cnil has issued Google with a EUR 50 million fine following an inquiry prompted by complaints filed in May 2018 by two non-profit organizations. The investigation was carried out in September 2018, in response to two separate complaints from French consumer rights association La Quadrature du Net and data protection group NOYB (None of your business), led by Max Schrems.

Irish data protection regulator starts investigation into Facebook data breach

(Telecompaper) Ireland's Data Protection Commission has opened an investigation into the recent data breach at Facebook. The DPC said it would look at whether Facebook violated the EU's General Data Protection Regulation by not taking appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect its users and their data.
