The Dallas-based company took a hit because of currency translation effects for chip sales sold in Euro and Yen terms, as well as its low exposure to the PC market and wireless infrastructure, which weighed on chip demand. "Despite soft demand in some key markets, our optimism around healthy automotive and industrial revenue growth for TI remains unchanged," Brian Colello , analyst with Morningstar , wrote in his TI earnings note Thursday, after noting that most of TI's auto-related categories experienced double-digit increases in sales.
