Previously available only to enterprise users through its Gsuite subscriptions, Meet will be available free to anyone with an email account from early May. (Telecompaper) Google has announced a free, ad-supported music service on its Google Home speakers, or other Google Assistant-powered speakers. The deal echoes Amazon's earlier launch of a free, ad-supported digital music service in the US. With Google however, YouTube Music is already available on smart speakers in the US and UK, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Ireland, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Japan, the Netherlands, and Austria. It will soon launch in more countries.

Google launches Tez digital payment service for India

(Telecompaper) Google has introduced a digital payment app dubbed 'Tez' for India. Tez service users will be able to send money, instantly receive payments directly to their bank account, and make payments. Money transfers with Tez are made using NPCI's (National Payments Corporation of India) Unified Payments Interface (UPI).
