We are currently looking for a Galileo Simulations Officer to support our customer in Germany. Galileo Simulations Officer Key Tasks and Responsibilities In this role you be will working at ESAs Space Operations Centre ESOC and will be responsible for training the Mission Control Team, in preparation for the launch or other mission critical phases. Specifically, you will be responsible for Developing the training concept and the associated Simulation Plan Training delivery including simulator breakpoint preparation, testing of contingencies, writing briefing and debriefing messages, and running simulations Planning and developing failure cases of increasing difficulty to be introduced into the simulations, in order to train the Mission Control Team in nonnominal operations and application of mission rules Support the operational training of other staff, including but not limited to Ground Operations Managers and ESTRACK Control Centre ECC operators Support general training and simulation activities at ESOC. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent in engineering or other relevant field Good spacecraft knowledge on a subsystem level coupled with experience in an operational environment Ability to understand and accurately predict the behaviour of complex systems Operational training and operational simulators, ideally based on SimSat Satellite control systems, ideally based on SCOS2000 Programmingscripting languages e.g. C, Java, JavaScript Operational training and instructional design methodologies Familiarity with the ESOC working environment and Quality Management System would be an asset Experience with prelaunch activities and launch campaigns would be an asset Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. The Deputy Simulations Officer is responsible for supporting the prime Simulations Officer in the delivery of training. This includes assistance with simulator breakpoint preparation, testing of contingencies, writing briefing and debriefing messages, and running simulations. The allocation of simulations officers to missions and ground facilities training is decided by HSOONX in consultation with the relevant GSMs and SOMs. For this position the following allocation is anticipated Simulations Officer for the GALILEO Mission Galileo LEOPs are being conducted by an integrated ESACNES mission operations team. The simulations officer team is currently composed of 2 CNES and 1 ESOC simulation officers. The prime simulation officer is provided by the agency being in charge of the LEOP, as such prime and deputy position are alternating. The key candidate shall also be involved with the operational training of other staff. All applicants require familiarisation with both the space and ground segment. For a particular mission, the Prime Simulations Officer is responsible for the delivery of training to the Mission Control Team, supported by a Deputy Simulations Officer. The Deputy Simulations Officer is responsible for supporting the prime Simulations Officer in the delivery of training. The successful candidate shall have good spacecraft knowledge on a subsystem level, experience working within an operational environment along with the ability to understand and accurately predict the behaviour of complex systems. Due to the high security levels associated with this role all applicants will need to be European citizens. Applicants must be fluent in English, both spoken and written.
