ispace Europe is seeking a highly motivated and talented Electronics Designer to join its team and develop tomorrows lunar exploration technologies. About ispace ispace is a private lunar exploration company whose vision is to expand and sustain humanitys presence in space by utilizing resources available on the Moon. ispace was a Google Lunar XPRIZE finalist and its 4kg SORATO rover won the XPRIZE mobility milestone award. In addition to rovers, ispace is developing lunar landers with two missions already scheduled for launch in 2020 and 2021. ispace Europe is the companys regional office located in Luxembourg, in the heart of Europe. We are developing ispaces next rover missions that will prospect for lunar water and thereby set the first milestone toward lunar ISRU. ispace Europe core engineering competences are in lunar science, rover navigation, mission planning, data processing, and mission systems engineering. We are a diverse and growing team, motivated by the challenges of the Lunar Frontier, and determined to achieve the companys vision. Role Description The Electronics Designer will be responsible supporting ispace Europes current RD projects as well as leading and developing her or his own. The position requires a strong candidate passionate about electronics design and who is comfortable with developing and testing electronic units. Your first job will be to design and validate a digital PCB for nearrealtime image processing. Within the RD team, you will interact with the electrical systems engineer and the robotics engineer. This new design will have to comply with challenging power and space environment constraints and reach cost and performance targets. Key Responsibilities Conduct and document EEE parts selection Prepare calculations and participate in architecture tradeoffs Design and simulate digital electronic circuits Followup PCB manufacturing Perform part of PCB assembly Prepare test procedures and conduct functional tests Plan and followup environmental tests Bring in new processes and tools that enable our RD department to continue to grow and remain state of the art Speak up, identify risks and issues, define and manage mitigation plans Required Skills and Qualifications B.S.M.S. in Electronic Engineering or related field, or equivalent industry experience Demonstrate proficiency in PCB design and simulation Ability to perform PCB assembly and debugging Experience in Schematic Capture Experience in PCB Layout multiple layers preferred Exhibit strong intellectual curiosity and passion about learning new technologies Be highly organized and capable of independently planning and executing complex technical work Thrive in multidisciplinary environment in close cooperation with engineering and business teams Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Show initiative, leadership, and positive cando attitude Be comfortable with change and fastpace environment Preferred Experience Previous work on radiation hardened components or challenging environments is a plus Digital electronics is a must, experience with analog, power and highspeed design is a strong advantage Experience with design and manufacturing standards e.g. IPC is a plus Experience with Matlab and automated test solutions would be appreciated Should you be interested in this position, please submit your resume and cover letter.

The successful candidate will be an Electronics Engineer with analogue and PCB design experience, ideally with some experience in the space industry. Duties and responsibilities Design analogue frontend systems for interfacing sensors to digital and power systems. Simulate analogue systems using SPICE models. Design to EMC and EMI requirements. Perform functional tests, and supervise EMC and EMI testing. Design large, manylayer PCBs using ORCAD. Write reports on all of the above for external review. Designing and troubleshooting optical hardware and software for space missions Deriving and managing requirements Providing technical interface to customers and subcontractors Developing innovative solutions to engineering requirements Working with a dynamic team to produce innovative solutions Preparing technical documentation including test procedures, design specifications and engineering change notices Qualifications skills Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent. Individuals with Space Experience in Industry or with a Space Agency will have priority in evaluation of resumes. Experience designing analogue electronics for metrology. Experience designing PCBs. Preferably experience with ESA specifications for electronic design and assembly. Experience in the administration of requirements for internal and external customers and suppliers. Experience designing, manufacturing or testing electronics for the space environment Ability to independently apply engineering principles to design projects Keen to solve complex challenges in a small team Enthusiastic about space exploration Strong attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Skills considered an asset Knowledge of ESA ECSS standards and experience working in the Space Industry.Familiarity with ECSS
