Electronics Software Design Engineer, Spacecraft Imager Electronics Reports Image Electronics Team Leader Team Description The Image Electronics team delivers high quality, high reliability imagers to my customers fleet of earth observation spacecraft. The role would be ideally suited to an electronics engineer with software background. Particularly in high speed data inputs to PCs through the use of a frame grabber or custom interface cards. Key Purpose Delivery of Imager Electronic Ground Support Equipment. The role includes full design life cycle from the requirements capture stage through design, production and test to verification and commissioning of Imager Electronic systems. Key Tasks Work with team to generate requirements. Conception of design solutions Trade off bought in equipment vs in house design Schematic capture board level design if required Circuit simulation where required. Software interfacing design Windows Linux drivers Software data processing Test planning, test and verification. System Subsystem level interfacing and tradeoffs. Person Specification Degree in Electronics or Software Engineering or equivalent with relevant experience in other discipline. Experience in the following Signal level data receivers using LVDS, Wizardlink, CoaXPress or similarHigh Speed data interfaces into PC PCIEx, GigEthernet etc Processing data at high speed o Displaying image data using Java or similar Applications as ImageJ Hands on design and fault finding during test Delivering to budget and on time Knowledge and Skills Understanding of imaging systems Good VHDL understanding Selfmotivated and able to manage a package of work. Excellent interpersonal skills both written and oral communications ability to interface with customers and technical representatives. Good understanding of digital electronics and software interactions Creative problem solving. Flexible adaptable to changing priorities. Good MS Office skills Word, Excel, PowerPoint particularly

Tech giant Samsung Electronics Co Ltd said on Monday it will create a 100 billion won fund to compensate cancer-stricken workers and their families, and for efforts to prevention such diseases at its chip and display factories. Samsung said in a statement the fund will make payments to workers or families of those who became sick while working at its plants, including contractors.
