The UK's Transport for London (TfL) has begun a public consultation for the revised route of Crossrail 2, a 27bn rail line being proposed to connect south-west and north-east London.

Earlier this week and in preparation for winter weather, Portland Bureau of Transportation Maintenance Operations crews conducted a training/refresher course on snow plow operations. On Thursday, October 29th crews will now conduct a full check of the snow vehicle fleet at PBOTs incident response headquarters at the Kerby Maintenance Offices. They will also drive trucks along their assigned snow routes to re-familiarize themselves with the routes and terrain.

Oct. 25--TAMPA -- Is the solution to the Tampa Bay area's mass transit woes already crisscrossing Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas counties? That's a question local planners will begin considering in the weeks and likely years to come as Jacksonville-based CSX Corp. considers selling off two rail lines that could conceivably be operated as commuter routes. CSX floated the sale of 96 miles of track at a recent meeting of the Tampa Bay Transportation Management Area Leadership Group, which includes three elected officials each from the three counties' Metropolitan Planning Organizations and sets regional transportation priorities.

Gennaro Dicecilia of Automotion LLC on Route 9 pleaded guilty in July to failing to turn sales taxes collected over to the state. A Toms River used car dealer has been sentenced to three years in prison for failure to turn over more than $156,000 in sales tax collected from customers to the state, Acting Attorney General John J. Hoffman said Friday.
