Qualcomm quarterly results top expectations, revenues up 13%

(Telecompaper) Qualcomm reported better-than-expected results for its fiscal fourth quarter to September, driven by new licensing agreements in China and smartphone demand in other emerging markets. The chipmaker's revenues rose 13 percent year-on-year to USD 6.2 billion, at the top of its outlook for USD 5.4-6.2 billion, and EPS jumped 60 percent to USD 1.07, beating its guidance and supported by its share buyback programme. Operating cash flow increased 24 percent to USD 2.1 billion.
