You will join the Ground Segment Chains Controlling, RF and Mission Telecommunication department within the EngineeringUser Ground Systems Management in Airbus DSSpace Systems. The activities of the department ranged from RD to the development of operational functional chains. You will be in charge of engineering activities andor in the development of space telecommunication mission ground segment field, more particularly concerning the architecture of space telecommunication mission centres, the specification of configuration functions, the planning and supervision of the system, RF performance engineering connection assessments, flow rate, service quality, etc.. The ground segment mission covers several functions, from the RF resources management of the space system in its entirety, the configuration of ground system elements antennas, RF, hardware and software and satellite payload, up to the supervision of the correct operation of the system and the followup of the provided performance, in quality and quantity, and the generation of valueadded products postprocessed and analysed data towards users. Depending on the candidate profile and skills, you will also carry out RD studies andor contribute to or lead responses to calls for tender in these areas. Your main tasks will include Analysing customer and user needs Defining the technical specifications of the subsystem Designing hardware and functional architecture Carrying out engineering and RD studies in the telecommunication systems field Developing modelling, simulation or software application tools Carrying out technical presentations during project reviews Performing technical followup of subcontracting supplier, guiding collaborators or interns This position will require travels abroad in the context of acceptance 1 or 2 per year for several days. DUTIES Seconded from the European Space Agency ESA, the Director of the European Space Policy Institute ESPI is the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute and its legal representative, according to the ESPI Statutes. ESPI is a think tank that was established by decision of the European Space Agency Council in 2002. It is located in Vienna, Austria. The European Space Policy Institute ESPI provides decisionmakers with an informed view on mid to longterm issues relevant to Europes space activities.
