FCC confirms ban on use of ZTE equipment in USF projects

(Telecompaper) The FCC has denied an appeal from ZTE to reconsider the US regulator's decision to declare ZTE a national security threat. The order first issued 30 June means ZTE cannot supply telecom companies receiving subsidies from the Universal Service Fund in the US.

ZTE revenue growth accelerates to 37% in Q3

(Telecompaper) ZTE announced revenues of CNY 74.13 billion for the first nine months of 2020, an increase of 15.4 percent from the year-earlier period. The company's growth accelerated in the third quarter, to 37.2 percent to CNY 26.93 billion in revenue, compared to a 5.8 percent increase in sales reported for the first half of the year.

Swedish watchdog announces 5G auction shortlist, excludes Huawei and ZTE from suppliers

(Telecompaper) Swedish communications regulator PTS said it has approved Telia, 3 Sweden, Teracom and the Net4Mobility joint venture by Telenor and Tele2 to participate in the auctions for 5G spectrum in the 3.5 GHz and 2.3 GHz bands. The 3.5 GHz auction is due to start on 10 November. Huawei and ZTE may not be used as equipment providers.
