LG Electronics plans Oled TV partnership with China, Japan firms

South Korea's LG Electronics Inc said on Tuesday it plans to partner with Chinese and Japanese firms in a bid to make organic light-emitting diode display televisions more mainstream. LG Electronics, the world's second largest television maker after rival Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, did not say what the partnership would entail or name the companies.

Samsung firms lead in U.S., European TV markets

Korea's high-tech TVs are solidifying their lead in the global flat screen TV market. In Europe, the combined flat TV market share of Samsung and LG Electronics in 2014 topped 60-percent, meaning 3 out of 5 European customers bought Korean-made flat sceen TVs last year.
