Marathon Petroleum Corp. has handed out at least $280,000 in cash and is paying to have cars and houses cleaned in Bayou Vista after an unusually large cloud of dust belched from its Texas City refinery and drifted onto the small Galveston County town last week. As of midweek, the company's hotline had fielded about 900 calls from concerned residents.
