In a long-running investigation going back ten years, the European Commission fined the company EUR 242 million for abusing its market dominance in 3G baseband chipsets. The Snapdragon 855 Plus Mobile Platform, its newest processor, performs graphics functions 15 percent faster. It will show up in new devices later this year. Snapdragon 855 Plus is an update to the flagship Snapdragon 855, released earlier this year.

(Telecompaper) Qualcomm has unveiled its latest Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset, a faster follow up to the company's flagship Snapdragon 855. The new plaform aimed at giving a strong 5G, gaming, AI and XR experience sports a Kryo 485 CPU that runs at top clock speeds of up to 2.96 GHz. Qualcomm's Adreno 640 GPU provides a performance improvement of 15 percent, the company said.
