Last week, Continental Resources announced plans to cut its budgeted expenditures by close to $2 billion for the next year. Part of the planned cuts include reducing the company's rig count from 50 to 34 by the end of the first quarter of 2015 with further cuts to 31 rigs by the end of the year.
