Satellite Power System Architect

ATG is currently looking for a Satellite Power System Architect, to be deployed at our customers location in Bremen, Germany. Our client is one of the top players in the European space technology industry, offering solutions for complete satellites, scientific payloads and structures. The company is currently working on major European satellite development and manufacturing programs and is looking for support within the Electrical Systems department. Tasks and Responsibilities Architect for the concept, detailed design, trades, analyses, and final definition of the electrical power system EPS and its units for project specific satellite applications consisting of solar arrays, batteries, PCDU, and SADMSADE Consultancy, support, and review of predevelopment proposals phase AB Specification of the system and units all phases Management and supervision of the EPS subcontractors for all project phases from RFIproposal stage up to final deliverylaunch Definition of the project specific SOW for EPS subcontractors Technical responsible for the subcontractor selection process Management of the project EPS team activities and resources Leading EPS level and unit level reviews Creation of system level justification documentation analyses, reports and design descriptions Management and control the interfaces with other satellite subsystems e.g. pin2pin, eICD, SRDB Point of contact for the customer and subcontractor EPS counterparts including negotiations, reviews Support, management and control of the EPS VV activities Definition and documentation of unit, system and satellitelevel tests Support to satellite projects from start to customer acceptance. Required Skills and Education A degree in engineering with a major in electrical, or space engineering, or comparable qualifications Minimum of 8 years of working experience, preferably with electrical systems or components Working, uptodate knowledge of electrical power system design for satellites Understanding of the interdependencies within the system and with the other satellite subsystems Capable of taking on the responsibility for multimillion euro contracts Excellent communication skills, flexibility and ability to work and take decisions independently Excellent presentation and negotiation skills Authority figure, capable of leading a small engineering team and represent the teams work to the customer Fluency in spoken and written English, German is considered a plus. A vacancy has arisen for a Principle Electromagnetic Compatibility EMC System Architect with Airbus Defence and Space in Stevenage. The successful candidate will act as project technical authority during life cycle of the project. You will be technically responsible for producing the system EMC architecture and ensuring its consistency through design, integration and validation phases. The key responsibilities of the role are as follows a Be overall responsible for the EMC design of the Spacecraft b Ensure that all relevant system requirements are captured while maximising the use of the industrial file on the project. c Timely organisation and preparation of key reviews. d Oversee the technical management of Electrical equipment subcontracts through the appointed subsystem architects to ensure on time on cost on quality delivery to the project wrt EMC system needs. e Ensure that verification planning and test requirements adequately capture system design requirements. The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience I Required Experience a Extensive experience on Spacecraft System level EMC Design and Test experience in a Prime Contractor organisation. b Experience ensuring that the system requirements are captured and valid. II JobTechnical Knowledge a Strong understanding of Spacecraft electrical architectures, b Knowledge of DC Magnetic Low Frequency EH field, c Knowledge of ECSS MilStandards. d Familiarity with Nonconformance Reporting systems, RFDs RFWs III Qualifications Educated to degree level in Science, maths or engineering discipline. IV General a Good time management and the ability to work concurrently on multiple projects, b Ability to identify and mitigate risks, c Good ability to communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical parties. d Ability to identify areas for improvement and implement a plan for optimising processes, e Experience of direct liaison, including presentations, with both Customers and suppliers.
