The CLS Environment Climate Business Unit addresses the development of operational services or research activities in the fields of oceanography, meteorology, hydrology, the study of biodiversity and all other earth sciences. The clients are mainly space agencies, scientists, institutions or universities, but also private companies. Within the Environment Climate BU, the Ple Terre Hydrologie is mandated to develop necessary skills for the observation and analysis of land surfaces and continental waters for services to French institutions CNES, IGN, etc. and Europeans COPERNICUS, ESA, EUMETSAT, etc., international funders World Bank, AFD, etc., or even communities or private companies. With strong skills in GIS and Earth Observation technologies, as well as in the development of IT solutions implementing it, the Solutions Innovations Unit actively participates in the development of solutions deployed within the Earth Pole Hydrology for institutional or private markets. It participates in a transversal manner in the development dynamic of the Earth Hydrology Pole in synergy with the other CLS entities. In this context, CLS is looking for a Geospatial Solutions Innovations manager MF You are responsible for the successful completion of the activities of your Unit and the teams that make it up. You guarantee the implementation and achievement of the objectives set, by aiming for the development and optimal functioning of processes in accordance with Group strategy. True architect of the geospatial solutions developed in the various fields of application of the Cluster Land Use Mapping, Agriculture, Urban Planning, Forestry, Continental Hydrology, Environment, Risks, etc., you are responsible for the efficiency of the solutions developed and their suitability for needs. As part of your duties, your main missions consist of Contribute to the development of the Earth Hydrology Poles strategy, and in particular its technological RoadMap, Supervise project management and technical coordination, Carry out studies, models or demonstrators, participate in tests and development of new solutions or developments by ensuring the definition and sizing of components or taking into account market demands, feasibility, quality constraints and development or industrialization costs, Ensure the development of the companys technical knowhow competitiveness compared to the competition, by Ensuring a technological, normative and usage watch, Developing technical, scientific and industrial partnerships, in conjunction with other company entities, and in particular its Datalab, Promoting the pooling and capitalization of technical developments. Participate in responses to Calls for Tenders in support of the Clusters thematic areas, by imagining highperformance geospatial solutions that best meet customer or market requirements, Ensure coordination with the other entities of the Division and good relations with customers and partners. As part of this mission, you manage the unit made up of a team of around 5 people team management management, definition of objectives, support, workload plan, project supervision and reporting to your manager pole. Holder of a Bac 5 training engineering school or university, you have significant experience in an equivalent position, including in particular the management of a product and or technical team. Concrete experience of developing solutions in some of the thematic areas addressed by the Earth Hydrology Pole would be appreciated. Known for your leadership, methodical, you have a sense of responsibility and are able to take charge of the activity of a cell and to interact with many internal and external interlocutors. With good interpersonal skills, you will be able to manage a team on site and remotely. Your oral fluency, including in an international context, makes you a leader and an excellent negotiator. Geospatial Solution Architect Key Tasks and Responsibilities Activities will range from scientific research to designing, defining and building innovative geospatial solutions, demonstrators and prototypes as well as providing technical consultancy expertise and advice to internal and external partners. You will have the following responsibilities Contribute technical expertise to the development and implementation of geospatial technology strategy, including objectives and delivery against KPIs Negotiate with management, customers, regulators or vendors to influence decisions in support of business activities Maintain knowledge of the practices of similar organisations as well as staying at the forefront of technical developments Lead the delivery of projectsprogrammes including providing specialist technical expertise and leadership Lead the design and specification of all system components considering functionality, data, security, integration, infrastructure, and performance Document solutions using industry best practice including architecture diagrams, APIs, DB schema and data models Facilitate groups or teams through problem solving processes Provide leading technical input into business development activities Represent the company at external communities, conferences and take an active role in developing the community Provide solution architectural governance, leadership and serve as a technical coach and mentor for more junior members of the team. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or a related field 5 years of experience architecting developing geospatial solutionssystems that leverage both opensource and COTS geospatial GISEO technologies desktop, server, mobile, web Experience in platform architecture, solution design, project envisioning, planning, developing, deployment, security, identity management frameworks, cloud, and scalability Experience with large volume geospatial data, ideally earth observation software technologies and data Programming and scripting experience with Python, JavaScript, andor HTML5 modern web frameworks Experience with a broad range of both commercial and opensource geospatial software technologies and software engineering tools Geospatial Technologies including Esri ArcGIS Enterprise, Google Earth Engine, QGIS, MapBox, ENVI, FME, GeoServer, Terria.JS GIS and EO data portals and platforms DevelopmentData Science SoftwareTools, such as Python, C, C, Java, Scala, Jupyter Notebooks, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, OpenLayers, Leaflet, JavaScript serverside frameworks e.g., Node, React, Angular, Vue, Jenkins, Ansible, GitHub, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence Experience with Cloud platforms AWS, Azure, Google Knowledge of Open Geospatial Consortium standards with particular focus on webbased GIS data standards Substantial experience leading large scale, complex multi partner projects Recognised external expert with established network through contributions to working groups, communities of interest and thought leadership activities Direct experience of RD proposal development and working in partnershipconsortia settings Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
