Thorn SDS are seeking a Consultancy Support on Ground Station Software and MC Engineer to join the SEP Division of the TSS Department. A key focus of the role is to support the activities of ground segment developments in the area of Software Monitoring and Control MC related to the ground stations. All applicants must have demonstrated experience in the following areas System Software engineering in an operational earth observation environment. Monitoring and Control application Maintenance and Configuration Ground Stations Monitoring and Control LinuxWindows operating system TCPIP, SNMP, Serial based communications C and java programming languages and XML Longterm maintainability analysis and integrating software into a new operating system andor across computer platforms. Experience in the following Ground stations system and subsystem design and development for TTC and payload data transmissions e.g. ECSS and CCSDS standards C and Java programming languages such as XML Knowledge of multiplexingdemultiplexing schemes applied in Space Links for TTC and payload data transmissions e.g. ECSS and CCSDS Standards Data Base Applications and related configurations control mechanisms. Would be considered an advantage. Typical tasks and responsibilities will include To support the Engineering activities of Phase B of future ground segments in the areas of ground stations software and MC systems. To support the analysis and implementationtesting of changes, or reengineering that may be required on the basis of user requirements or maintainability issues. Applicants must have good English, both written and spoken. A working knowledge of the French language would be considered an advantage. Some travel within Europe may be required. We are seeking a Java EE Development Support Engineer to contribute to the full lifecycle of the application software development, maintenance and support for all services, including web applications integrated in the website and intranet. All applicants must have A minimum of 5 years experience in the design, implementation, integration and testing of website and intranet applications using Java EE and Oracle databases. A minimum of 3 years professional experience in JSFFacelets, JSP, Servlets and JPAHibernate A knowledge of XHTML, CSS, Ajax, JavaScript, XML, XSLT and Windows Proven experience in formal documentation, preferably in a ISO 9000 certified project and service environment.
