The government in January said it would not appeal a regional court ruling in favour of Vodafone in a long-running dispute under which the taxmen had accused a unit of the British telecoms firm of under-pricing shares in a rights issue.

ClimateWire: A large majority of Americans support taxing carbon emissions, according to polling results released yesterday, and favorability rises to two-thirds if the tax is used to send money back to households. The U.S. House of Representatives today passed a bill to repeal the federal tax that applies a 40 percent tax rate to estates worth at least $5.43 million. The bill, called the Death Tax Repeal Act of 2015, was passed with 240 votes in favor and 179 voting against the measure.
