We are currently looking for a Radio Navigation Engineer to work in the beautiful city of Noordwijk, in the Netherlands. You will be working on GALILEO Ground Segment processing facilities, in a role supporting the GALILEO Ground Mission Segment GMS team. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Followup of the procurement actions related to the implementation of a set of GMS Elements, being the Technical Officer for elements including support to the monitoring of industrial contracts for the developments and generating and reviewing relevant documentation such technical requirements Participation to GMS related Integration, Verification and Qualification IVQ activities, such as test cases definition and preparation, formal tests witnessing, Verification Credit collection at Element and Segment level, anomalies followup at Element, Segment and System level Evaluation of GMS design, with a specific focus on GMS Operations and Operability Improvements, Galileo Services provision, Online and Offline Monitoring, System Reporting, Mission Support and Mission Processing, and evolutions of the GMS architecture and design e.g. virtualisation, data centric processing, etc. Support to GMS engineering activities, as well as Galileo System level engineering activities, such as requirement engineering, change management and baseline evolutions DCPsDCNs, assessment of contractors RFDsRFWs Contribution to GMS and System reviews. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree MSc minimum in telecommunications and signal processing or electronic engineering, as well as experience in these fields. Specific knowledge in the design and testing of Radio Navigation systems and equipment. Strong knowledge on the design of satellite navigation systems, ranging and positioning techniques, signal processing techniques and GNSS security and processing facilities. Several years of experience relevant with the GNSS and GALILEO systems and equipment and have good knowledge of Radio Navigation processing, simulation and testing systems. Specialist in the implementation, maintenance and operation of complex Radio Navigation processing, simulation and test facilities for spacecraft, aircraft, maritime and land mobile applications. Eligibility for security clearance from their national security administration. The following skills would be highly desirable Knowledge on virtualization and data centric processing is an asset. ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY The jobholder manages information system security risks. Heshe specifies and implements information system security concepts to adequately safeguard information assets of SES, its affiliates and commercial platforms. The jobholder plans, implements, documents and operates information security systems and provides information security support services to architects and systemapplication engineers within the organization to meet new and evolving security requirements specializing in Cloud and related technologiessolutions. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULTS AREAS Support the development of a risk management framework for information system related security risks and manage information system related security risks accordingly Assess system and application security requirements, threats, vulnerabilities and security risks in complex, heterogeneous systems and throughout their life cycle Develop, deliver and maintain comprehensive and consistent security solutions to mitigate identified risks to an acceptable level Specify, implement and document information system security concepts and information security controls for new systems and operational systems in close collaboration with system owners and engineering groups Deliver information security support services to architects and systemapplication engineers by providing clear, concise and constructive recommendations regarding information system and application security Assist architects, systemapplication engineers in the identification and implementation of appropriate information security controls and hardening of systems to ensure effective safeguarding of SES information assets Plan, implement, document and operate information security systems Define policies, processes, procedures, configuration baselines and guidelines to ensure appropriate security risk management throughout the system life cycle Define system and application security baselines based on industry best practices, which efficiently and effectively mitigate risks, while respecting functionality and operational constraints. Monitor compliance with hardening baselines and manage exceptions. Perform technical security assessments of information systems and applications to identify vulnerabilities and noncompliance with established security standards and recommend effective mitigation strategies Define and optimize the vulnerability and patch management process. The job holder analyses reports from vulnerability assessment scanners, patch management tools, and emerging threat information, advises on the risk and remediation and monitors the mitigation of identified security issues. Support engineering groups with security engineering expertise in the different security domains, such as identification and access management, authentication and authorization, secure design, system hardening, risk management, vulnerability assessment and management, security testing, secure software development Evaluate emerging risks and information security technologies to ensure an uptodate information security risk register and to define and implement effective, stateoftheart security concepts. Support security incident response with a focus on the implementation of effective preventive system security controls as well as containment, eradication and recovery of information systems. Support the development and promotion of information security policies, standards, processes and procedures and monitoring compliance to the information security policy framework with a focus on information system security. Lead information security projects as laid down in SESs information security strategy and deliver them within time, cost and scope. Support the development and maintenance of SESs information security awareness program and training program with content dedicated for system engineers to ensure consistent management of information system security risks.
