Airbus are looking for 5 x Experienced Design Engineer Principle Design Engineers to oversee daytoday activities for a small design team 520 people. For the right person, the career path opportunities are to become a Functional Team Lead within 18 months 2 years. You will be joining the Mechanical Design Office at Airbus Defence Space in Stevenage. You will carry out Lead Designer activities for Spacecraft Structure design tasks. You will oversee day to day activities for a small team of Design Engineers ensuring all customer requirements are supported. The successful candidate will need to gain UK Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Responsibility for the control, correctness, accuracy and relevance of all drawings, models, Digital Mock Up DMU, bills of materials and Engineering Change Notes as related to the configured items for allocated projects to cost and schedule. Ensuring all outputs from the Mechanical Design Office MDO are correct to the project requirements as stated by the core team generally the Responsible Engineer All the project Design Office outputs must be checked, signed and stamped by the lead design engineer to the checklists and CATIA procedures. Authorising design signatory for manufacturing drawings, BoMs and ECOs related to the allocated project. Responsibility for the estimation and planning of DO related activities and manpower requirements to meet those tasks. Allocation of manpower is sought through the Team Leader. Supervising and mentoring of other DO design engineers working on the project. Providing support to other general DO activities, e.g. Process improvements, bids etc.We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Degree or equivalent in an Engineering discipline with working background the Aerospace industry. Excellent working knowledge and experience of CATIA V5. Strong Engineering technical background including working knowledge of GDT Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing and DFM Design for Manufacturing. Practical understanding of Design solution. Experience of VPM3DCOM Windchill BOM Management. Desirable skills experience are of interest, but NOT essential as training support will be provided. Experience managing a small team. Experience managing work packages, dealing with budgets and headcount requirements. Experience of CATIA V6. We are looking for a Thermal Engineer for one of our space clients based in Northern Ireland. This is a long term contactor position with the option to become permanent for the correct engineer. The Role The Engineer must be experienced in using ANSYS Software and be familiar with ESA and ECSS standards. Knowledge of thermodynamics and its practical applications is essential, experience and knowledge of fluid mechanics and CFD would be beneficial. The Person Applicants will possess excellent IT, time management and communication skills both written and oral and the confidence to interact with personnel at every level, from training and development, technical specialists, management, customers and factory floor. The suitable candidate will be selfmotivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team. The selection team will also be looking for evidence of original thinking and the ability to find innovative and relevant solutions to problems. Experience of Thermal Design and must be experienced of Thermal projects within the space industry for around five years or longer.

Our client is a space sector specialist based in Northern Ireland. On behalf of this Client we are recruiting Catia V5 Design Engineers. We are presently seeking experienced Catia V4V5 design engineers. Those engineers with knowledge in primary and secondary structures in Aerospace and or Space Engineering would be ideal for this role. This role is to be working on a 5 kW Thruster project for the space industry. This role is a contract position and is due to run for at least 89 months starting early April with the option to be extended. This Role Understanding and daily application of. Design for assembly. Surfacing and complex shape modelling. Component design. Stress Engineering. Fundamental understanding of the design process and modelling methodologies. The Person Proficient in Catia V4V5. You will have a relevant degree or equivalent experience. Knowledge of DELMIA desirable but not essential. Experience of working with aircraft structures metallic, plastic or composite ideally gained within the aerospace industry. Must have worked previously in the Space Industry on previous projects with around five years or more experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
