The U.S. Supreme Court vacated a Fourth Circuit decision Wednesday, reviving a pregnancy bias case against the United Parcel Service brought by a former delivery driver who was denied a light-duty work accommodation while pregnant. In doing so, the Court for the first time applied the well-known McDonnell-Douglas burden shifting framework to these types of pregnancy discrimination cases.

Corporate America tells the Supreme Court that gay marriage is good for business

On Thursday, an amicus brief was filed with the US Supreme Court on behalf of 379 American corporations, asking the court to end the confusion and make gay marriage legal throughout the country. An amicus curiae , literally "friend of the court," is a filing by someone who is not a party to a case, but who claims to have a substantial interest in it.

These Mass. tech companies are encouraging the Supreme Court to back gay marriage

Among the 379 companies around the country that signed on to urge the U.S. Supreme Court to support gay marriage were two Massachusetts-based technology companies: Cambridge-based Akamai Technologies Inc. and Woburn-based Skyworks Solutions.
