This vacancy note concerns an onsite consulting position at ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany. Software Engineer 1823039 Job Description ESAESOC is looking for a software engineer to support its activities in the projects OPENS Operation Preparation Environment and GSMCC Ground Segment Mission ControlCommon Core, in the context of the EGOSCC ESA Ground Operation System Common Core. The activities will be performed from the Solenix offices, with frequent visits to ESOC to coordinate and access the facilities. The main tasks you will perform are Contribution to the technical requirements and to the design of the OPENS application GSMCCC preparation application. Contribution to the concepts and requirements for using the CCSDS CSTS Functional Resources model. Contribution to technical requirements and design for the EGOSCC activities in general. Development prototyping of selected components plugins. Contribution to peer reviews related to the GSMCCC application Definition and execution of the test and validation concepts and scenario. Identification of potential test and validation tools. Support of meetings and reviews of the GSMCCC project and EGOSCC project as necessary. Contribution to feedback to the OPEN and EGSCC frameworks. Contribution to the design of the OPEN framework Required Skills and Experience Excellent knowledge of the Java language, preferably with an official Oracle certification Concrete understanding of the principles of component based software engineering Good working knowledge of the following Java frameworks and development tools Eclipse RCP development, EMF, GIT Concrete Understanding of OSGi, Blueprint, Maven Good working knowledge of the EGSCC and OPEN frameworks Good working knowledge of the ESOC Ground Station monitoring and control Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems Be wellorganized, with ability to prioritise and manage several activities in parallel Familiarity in continuous integration activities and tooling Concrete experience in working as part of a team Familiarity in the ESOC working environment and Quality Management System QMS Knowledge of satellite or ground operations, or nonspace operational environments Work Location Darmstadt, Germany Dates Application Deadline 27 July 2018 Start of Work September 2018 Important Notes Before applying to this position, please read the page Notes to Applicants on the Solenix website under Career. Location ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands Description Software Engineer in the Flight Software Systems Section, Software Systems Division, Systems Department, Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality. The Flight Software Systems Section provides functional support to ESA projects and carries out research studies RD in the fields of realtime embedded software systems, flight software systems development and software validation facilities.
