Small-size Cub Foods pitched for blighted Blaine shopping center

A real estate company based out of suburban Chicago hopes to redevelop a distressed Blaine shopping center and install a new, small-scale Cub Foods at the property. Tri-Land Properties Inc. presented a redevelopment plan to the City of Blaine during a workshop with the city council on Jan. 15. The proposal called for a 45,000-square-foot Cub Foods at Oak Park Plaza, a 1960s-era shopping center at the intersection of 109th Avenue NE and University Avenue NE.
