USSS describes principles and tactics which guide how USA develops standards and participates in international standards-setting process. Minor changes in 2015 version reflect current national priorities and industry growth areas, including growth of such innovative technologies such smart cities, IoT, and cybersecurity as well as continuing shift to services-based economy.

Canada says oil pipeline reviews proceed despite process revision

Canada's environmental review of existing applications for crude oil pipeline projects is continuing despite the new Liberal government's plans to make the assessment process more robust, Natural Resources Minister Jim Carr said on Wednesday. "There will be a transition as we amend the ways in which the National Energy Board goes about the process of evaluating these projects, and we will announce those changes as soon as we can, but the process continues."

ASABE Completes Revision of power take off drive shaft standard.

American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) announced completion of ANSI/ASAE S331.6, Implement Power Take-off Drive Shaft Specifications. This standard establishes categories of universal-joint drive shafts with 2 subsets of telescoping members each: one heavy duty and one regular duty. In addition to updating normative references and terminology, this revision includes categories and test parameters for type-4 power take-offs.
