Life and Physical Scientist 2 positions Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the ESAs Life Science Office, you will have the following responsibilities Define and document the scientific requirements, i.e. definition and maintenance of scientific requirements and keeping uptodate all relevant and necessary documentation for selected experiments on all available human research platforms Define a science strategy for the programmes on all available human research platforms. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Medical Doctor qualification andor a PhD degree in a biomedical discipline Demonstrated experience in human research project management Personal research experience in human research as well as handson experience with spaceflight experiments and knowledge about endtoend implementation of ISS research Experience related to other human research platforms such as bedrest, isolation and confinement and radiation facilities Knowledge and experience of the ISS environment and its boundary conditions Knowledge of the requirements definition process for scientific experiments Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. Human Research Support Scientist

RHEA is currently recruiting a Human Research Support Scientist to support the Human Research Unit at our clients premises in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The European Space Agency ESA organizes review and selection of human research experiments proposed by European Investigators for implementation on various platforms. After selection, the experiments are subsequently defined and prepared for execution. The scientific requirements for each individual experiment need to be captured in various documents, and subsequently adjusted according to boundary conditions during the implementation process meanwhile maintaining the scientific merit. The task to coordinate with the science team and act as a focal point within the Agency with respect to scientific aspects of the respective experiment resides with the assigned Project Scientist. The tasks of the Project Scientist require both scientific understanding and experience of the specific aspects related to human research in the ISS. The Project Scientist reports directly to the Head of the ESA Life Sciences Office.
