Spun yarn prices are bottoming out in China over a slight rebound of demand ahead of lunar year holidays. Optimism is back and inventories are being replenished, as activities are expected to recover after holidays and the successful end of the trade war with the United States. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing and Shaoxing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Import prices are also available for yarns from India, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Vietnam. Domestic and import yarn prices are compared. All data are available for download.

Polyester Fiber Prices in China, India and Pakistan (Weekly Report)

Polyester filament yarn prices have sharply rebounded in the last days in China, over a significant increase of PTA prices in the last week. Demand is triggered by the need to replenish stocks and benefit from a recovery of textile activities after holidays. Our weekly report covers the Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) on the domestic markets in China, India, and Pakistan. Polyester filament prices in China are also released, whereas the report includes a price comparison of polyester with cotton and viscose in China.

Silk Prices in China (Quarterly Report)

Silk prices are eventually bottoming out in the first month of 2019 in China, in line with an urgent need to replenish stocks ahead of the spring festival. Silk prices have fallen about 25% in the last year, reflecting a stronger production in China after dried cocoon prices have surged in the first half. Export prices have however continued increasing in the summer before staying at high levels. Our quarterly report provides daily prices in the past 12 months and monthly average prices over the last seven years for silk and dried cocoons on China's domestic market, with in-depth analysis of latest and long-term trends. China's export prices are also released over a 4-year period along with EU's silk import data, including average import prices over the last 5 years. All data are available for download.
