Rick Snyder said he wants assurances on the jobs that would be created by a Nevada company that wants tax concessions in exchange for building a massive $5 billion data center that would employ 1,000 workers at the former Steelcase pyramid. "The question is whether more added-value work will be taking place at that facility," Snyder told reporters after his luncheon address to the Michigan Farm Bureau's annual meeting on Tuesday, Dec, 1. "Just a data center by itself is not a huge job generator, it's a huge data center," Snyder said of Switch, a Nevada company that has said it will invest $5 billion and create 1,000 new jobs over the next 10 years to create a data center serving the eastern half of the United States.
