EU votes for emissions cap for new cars save 15m tonnes of CO2

2014-02-27 11:16:00| Climate Ark Climate Change & Global Warming Newsfeed

Blue and Green: The European parliament has voted in favour of the worlds toughest carbon dioxide emission standards for new cars, albeit with some concessions as a result of German lobbying. The targets were approved by a vote of 499 in favour, with 107 against and 9 abstentions, on Tuesday. Sydney Morning Herald: Australia should reduce emissions by 19 per cent from 2000 levels by the end of the decade -- a significantly stronger target than the current pledge of a 5 per cent cut -- to play its part in stopping dangerous global warming, expert advice to the government says. Coalition 'must treble minimum emissions target to stay credible'

The authority says the costs of such an increase would be manageable, involving a reduction of only 0.02% in annual average income growth per person compared with meeting the 5% target, under effective...

Conformal Coating helps manufacturers reduce VOC emissions.

2014-02-26 14:30:43| Industrial Newsroom - All News for Today

Acrylic conformal coating, USTFA, facilitates and optimizes selective coating process. Able to adhere to difficult substrates, low-viscosity coating has UL94 V-0 flammability rating and meets requirements of IPC-CC-830. This single-component, 100% solids coating cures in seconds with conveyorized UV lamps or within 2 hr at 80°C. Multi-cure mechanism facilitates cure in shadowed areas: under 3 days at ambient temperatures and humidity (or accelerated by 30 minute bake at 80°C).
