EOP Engineering Support for Copernicus Post Launch Support PLS

ACS can offer competitive remuneration as part of a permanent, fulltime employment contract attractive benefit package tailored on specific exigencies stimulating, international working environment at customer site training and personal growth within ACS Exprivia international group Tasks Coordinate internal external support to PLS Coordinate with the ESA Project Team to exchange technical status on the flying and nonflying satellites and coordination issues Support PLS at the regular weekly Operations Boards Support the Operations Teams by responding to technical support requests from either FOS or PDGS Maintain distribute the PLS OnCall lists to the FOS Support the Mission Manager and team by providing technical advice on Satellites performance Support the Project Teams with feedback on any inflight issue with potential impact on satellites under development Provide specific technical expertise to support Performance Monitoring, Analysis Optimisation tasks and Anomaly Investigations Prepare Technical Documentation Reports, Technical Notes Review, syntheses and extract technical information from Technical Reports produced by Industry Organise and support the 6monthly InOrbit Performance Reviews in cooperation with the Industrial Prime contractor, including associated followup activities eg administration, actions follow up etc Respond to Anomaly Warnings received from FOS providing support and facilitating the followon actions Support and lead investigations that arise as a result of satellite performance and anomalies, ensuring adequate coordination with involved partners MM, FOS, Industry, Project, Management Prepare, coordinate followup on engineering requests for the Industrial contractors in support of Anomaly Investigations and other technical analyses Support the meetings of the Satellite Configuration Control Board Support Satellite Decommissioning Disposal activities as required by Mission status Monitor, track and report the status of activities performed by the Industrial contractors in support of the PLS function technical, commercial and schedule status Prepare Commercial Documentation e.g. Statement of Work Review commercial payment requests the justifications submitted by Industry Bring innovation to satellite performance analysis by investigating emerging technologies that enhance the ability for early detection of performance trends and deviations Maintain the relevant PLS technical records, databases documentation in accordance with established procedures Maintain a regular weekly reporting coordination with the PLS Manager General requirements Fluent English language oral and written Autonomy in writing technical notes, specifications and reports in English Good interpersonal skills and team spirit Demonstrable multidisciplinary or systemlevel experience in the satellite engineering domain Previous working experience in a multinational environment is desirable and Very good knowledge of MS Office tools Activity required skills University degree in a relevant Engineering discipline Minimum 10 years of experience and a significant background in one or more of the following domains Satellite Operations, Spacecraft Development including Project Engineering, EquipmentSubsystem Procurement, Assembly Integration Test Minimum 3 year experience working as a System Engineer or with a System Coordination function in any of the above domains Good understanding of the Satellite Phase E2 Routine Operations Organisation and the typical activities performed Good understanding of the factors affecting the short and longterm performance of Satellites and their main subsystems or payloads Proven experience ability at working in an environment with multiple external interfaces Good at working in a team and a proactive attitude to solving problems. Direct experience working on either Sentinel1, 2, 3 or 5p satellites or their payloads would be of some minor benefit EU national or valid work permit for Germany CV in Europass format

Engineering Support to EOP on Cold Atom Interferometry for Future Missions

For one of our main customers ESAESTEC, we are currently looking for an Engineering Support to EOP Earth Observation Programme on Cold Atom Interferometry CAI for Future Missions to work in the Science, Applications and Future Technologies Department of ESA EOP Directorate. The role of the Future Missions Division EOPSF is to prepare the Earth observation EO missions and technologies of the future. The work carried out is mainly related to the endtoend definition of space missions, including orbits, instruments, platforms, endtoend performance, data flow, launcher interfaces, and ground processing to meet the observation requirements. Tasks and Responsibilities The contractor shall give support to EOP Future Missions Division to follow the developments in the above activities and parallel studies, which consist of the following Review TNs and actively participate to progress meetings related to ongoing CAI activities 3 ongoing1 starting mid2015 Support elaboration of Statement of Works for future CAI activities Investigate and propose parallel studies on CAI technology for space applications Perform internal studies to assess the results of external activities on CAI, including to define and maintain CAI systemlevel budgets and to perform performance studies. Support to monitoring EOP CAI studies The Contractor shall perform internal studies to assess the results of external activities on CAI, including to define and maintain CAI systemlevel budgets and to perform performance studies. Preparation on next activities planned. Up to present, four activities are planned for the realization of the CAI gradiometer. These will follow the ongoing activities at their completion. The Contractor shall contribute to the elaboration of the Statement of Works. The contractor will then support the monitoring of the execution of the activities. Investigation in CAI technology for space application. The Contractor shall investigate other applications of CAI for EOP purposes, implementing other concepts than gravity gradiometer. He shall support interactions with other ESA departments e.g. TECMM and SRES, national agencies and space industry in order to propose more reliable and compact CAI technology. Experience and Education The profile for the person to provide services considered for this vacancy is a research engineer with the following skills Relevant Academic background with University degree in engineering and a minimum of 4 years working experience in the field Good communication and technical writing skills Good organisation skills Methodical and proactive Good general knowledge of ESA EOP missions, and in particular of future gravity missions based on CAI technology Strong and demonstrated background in CAI technology, and in particular in laser systems and quantum sensors, and in its applications to space Experience of daytoday contact with international experts and partners in the field.
