Guardian: More than 140 nations have agreed on the first legally-binding treaty to curb mercury pollution. Delegates at UN talks in Geneva approved measures to control the use of the highly toxic metal, which is widely used in chemical production and small-scale mining, in order to limit mercury emissions. Orange to open portals, sell phones in new countries
2013-01-16 13:25:00| Telecompaper Headlines
(Telecompaper) Orange has launched a new subsidiary, Orange Horizons, to seek business opportunities in countries where the group is not already a mass-market telecom provider. These projects aim to provide a new source of revenue for and to improve customer loyalty across its footprint without the need for significant investment. The first of these projects has already been launched in South Africa under the Orange Horizons banner. This comprises two websites, an e-commerce site to sell telecoms-related devices and accessories and a country site providing online content specifically tailored for a national audience. The launch coincides with the start of the Orange Africa Cup of Nations. A similar e-commerce initiative was opened in Italy. The group plans to launch business ventures in several other European and African countries in 2013 and will also look at opportunities in South America to leverage existing content-related assets.

(It`s an older paper, but I just discovered it.) It`s worth mulling over the findings a bit. The research is quite clever, mainly in its simplicity. Instead of using complicated models built on all sorts of...
