Pfizer, Allergan CEOs: Tie-up aims to produce more meds, sales, isn't focused on cutting costs

The heads of drugmakers Pfizer and Allergan said Tuesday that the record $160 billion combination they're planning is meant to produce more medicines and boost revenue, not to just slash jobs and other costs as the companies previously have done. The deal announced last November would move Pfizer's official headquarters for tax purposes from New York to Allergan's base in Ireland.

PPG Industries has introduced a two-component polyester polyurethane enamel coatings series that the company says provides corrosion resistance when applied directly to metal or over primer-coated metal surfaces. The Spectracron 380 Poly-Iothane HS series is designed to enhance surface protection and durability in industrial and architectural environments, according to PPG.

Bellingham Herald: The states largest industrial emitters would be required to reduce carbon emissions by 5 percent every three years, under a proposed rule released Wednesday by state regulators. The Department of Ecologys proposed Clean Air Rule would initially apply to about two dozen manufacturing plants, refineries, power plants, natural gas distributors and others that release at least 100,000 metric tons of carbon a year. Many more facilities would likely be covered by the rule as that threshold is lowered...
