EPSSG System Engineer 1613175 Job Description We are looking for an EPSSG System Engineer for our client EUMETSAT. Your activities will include overall system aspects involving the space segment satellites and the ground segment, consisting of the data acquisition systems, monitoring and control systems, data processing facilities and product dissemination facilities. The focus will be on Satellite and operational related aspects within the system. Your tasks and responsibilities will typically include the following Ensuring that operational aspects from operations concept etc are adequately reflected in the system technical specifications and design Provide input and support to the customisation of the Packet Utilisation Standard PUS specific to EPSSG and documentation of the results Provide input and support to the customisation of other satellite related ECSS standards Provide input to the Space to ground ICD and ensure that the system design and operations matches with the satellite data storage and retrieval concepts Follow up of actions arising from the Space segment that have system impacts Provide support to general system engineering activities Analysis and trade off activities Preparation and maintenance of system technical specification Documentation of system design and justification Ad hoc internal reviews System level formal reviews Ground segment level activities as required Support IVV activities These activities will involve interactions with other EUMETSAT divisions. Travel within Europe, to the United States and possibly other parts of the world may have to be undertaken for certain tasks. Required Skills and Experience A university degree in the domain of engineering, science, or equivalent At least 5 years of experience in the field of engineering of space andor ground systems, in the area of LowEarth Orbiting satellites LEO, including the development of monitoring and control systems for polar satellites. Experience of Satellite Monitoring and Control using ECSS PUS standards services. Capability to prepare system requirements and design documents, and to perform systemlevel analyses for complex polar satellite systems. Desirable Skills and Experience Familiarity with the CORE design tool from Vitech. Experience with DOORs. Ground Stations System Engineers 2 positions 1613174 Job Description We are looking for 2 Ground Stations System Engineers for our client EUMETSAT. Please note there are separate start dates for each position. You shall support the activities of ground segment developments in the areas of Ground Stations, RF and Telecommunications, in a multidisciplinary system engineering team. Your tasks will include The follow up of the detailed design and development activities of Phase CD of the future ground segments in the areas of Ground Stations, RF and Telecommunications mainly for supporting MTG and EPS SG activities Engineering activities of Phase B of future ground segments in the areas of Ground Stations, RF and Telecommunications mainly for supporting JasonCS activities The maintenance and evolution in phase E to the other programmes within EUMETSAT MSG, EPS, Jason, ,.. in the areas of Telecommunications, RF and Ground Stations You may also be required to work standby or callout hours Occasionally tasks may require late night or weekend work, but will always be minimised where possible and will always be agreed in advance between both parties. You shall be in a position to attend reviews and progress meetings held outside EUMETSAT premises. You may also be required to go on missions to remote ground station sites such as Svalbard. Missions could have extended durations of several weeks during the missions the keyperson may have to work during nonnominal working hours, including also work during weekends and official holidays. Required Skills and Experience A university degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline relevant to the job profile together with the experience and capability to fulfil the assigned tasks. This experience shall include in particular Ground stations system and subsystem design and development for TTC Ground stations system and subsystem design and development for mission specific andor satellite communications ground stations TTC baseband equipment and SLE compliant implementations Technical background in the specification and VV of ground stations and large antennas and tracking systems for GEO and LEO satellites ACU and receivers inclusive Knowledge of modulationdemodulation schemes applied by Ground to Space ICD for TTC and payload data transmission e.g. ECSS and CCSDS Standards.
