We are currently looking for a Microwave Technology and Equipment Engineer to support our customer in the Netherlands. Microwave Technology and Equipment Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities In this role you will be working at the European Space Research and Technology Centre ESTEC. You will have the following responsibilities Contributing to the design, development and performance evaluation of RF technologies applicable to space and ground segments with particular emphasis on Travelling Wave Tube Amplifiers and Vacuum Electronics Providing expert technical support to projects and programmes Contributing to the generation of innovative ideas in the field of RF equipment and technologies and to the definition of ESA RD programmes Defining technical requirements and statements of work for the tasks to be performed by industry from early conceptual studies to full hardware development Contributing the to the developmentusage of section related laboratory facilities and analysissimulation tools Monitoring applicable scientific and technological trends. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent in microwave or RF electronics engineering Several years experience in a similar role Several years experience with Travelling Wave Tube Amplifiers and Vacuum Electronics Strong background on RF equipment and technologies for space applications Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. This job is located in Noordwijk. We are looking for candidates who are available from January 2015 or as soon as possible thereafter. Huawei releases plan to evolve 4G to 4.5G technology

(Telecompaper) Huawei has released its plan to evolve 4G network technology to what it calls 4.5G vision at the GSMA Mobile 360 Series. Huawei plans to launch 4.5G in 2016. Huawei's 4.5G technology will aim to provide users with ultra HD, 3D and possibly holographic videos. It is expected to open the era of Internet of everything as well as service-oriented network architecture prior to 5G being commercialized.
