We are looking for a Microwave MmWave Technology and Equipment Engineer E3 to join our Modis Aerospace team, working onsite at the European Space Agency in the Netherlands. Modis Aerospace is a specialized Engineering consultancy with more than 30 years experience providing aerospace Engineers to our key partners in The Netherlands. Modis is a longstanding business partner of the European Space Agency ESA, with more than 115 employees recruited from across Europe currently supporting ESAs activities. Specific tasks to be performed Contribute to the design, development and performance evaluation of RF technologies applicable to space and ground segments, with particular emphasis on RF passive equipment, components and technologies Filters, IMUXOMUX, ferrite devices, etc. Provide expert technical support to projects and programmes Contribute to the generation of innovative ideas in the field of RF equipment and technologies and to the definition of ESA RD programmes Define technical requirements and statements of work for the tasks to be performed by industry from early conceptual studies to full hardware development Contribute to the developmentusage of section related laboratory facilities and analysissimulation tools Maintain stateoftheart expertise by monitoring the technological trends and applying them in the daytoday tasks. To successfully perform the above mentioned tasks, the following background experience is required University Masters degree in Microwave or RF Electronics Engineering Good background on RF equipment and technologies for space application Minimum of 4 years of working experience on Passive RF equipment, components and technologies. Extensive and proven experience in the domain of microwave components, equipmentandor technologies. About ESAESTEC The European Space Agency ESA has sites in several European countries. The European Space Research and Technology Centre ESTEC is the largest site and the technical heart of ESA. This nursery of European space activities is located in Noordwijk, Netherlands. At ESTEC, about 2500 engineers, technicians and scientists work handson with mission design, spacecraft and space technology. Almost all ESA projects except launchers are managed from ESTEC. In Noordwijk, people work on science missions, manned space missions, Earth observation, telecommunications and navigation satellites. ESTEC provides extensive testing facilities to verify the proper operation of spacecraft, such as the Large Space Simulator LSS, acoustic and electromagnetic testing bays, multiaxis vibration tables and the ESA Propulsion Laboratory EPL. Fluency in English both written and spoken is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University and provide evidence to ESA. Prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident. Location The work will be performed at the European Space Technology and Research Centre ESTEC at Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Contract The selected candidate will receive good remuneration in line withESA Job Class. Will be registered for both social security and tax in the Netherlands. The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday. (Telecompaper) Qualcomm has released its first chipsets for Wi-Fi in the 60 GHz band. The QCA64x8 and QCA64x1 series deliver 10+ Gbps speeds and wired-equivalent latency, as well as extended device battery life, the vendor said. They are expected to support new applications such as UHD video streaming, VR/AR, mobile screen casting and fixed wireless mesh backhaul.
